Names Of God — Know Him!

 ^“Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name”.

— Psalm 91:14

God is known throughout the Bible by many names. After all, He is the ‘I Am That I Am’ — God in every situation! Therefore, it is crucial to not only know that He is God but also to know as many of His names as possible. When we do, we are better able to commune with Him in a more intimate fashion. If we say someone is our friend, then we would have known them by their names and even create our own personal names for them as we get closer and closer. If we say The Almighty God is our father then we should know His names. Most of us know our earthly father’s name even if we never met him face to face.

Knowing His names helps us to worship Him intensely and with meaning. God’s names are more than an identity, His names speak life into any situation based on the name we call Him at that particular time. Therefore, in order for us to get victory in our different battles, we should know The name to address Him by at that particular time. Knowing His names also heightens our praise and worship of Him and takes us deeper into the spiritual realm even as we meet Him at our various altars.
