Many believers say, “I am saved,” but cannot fully explain what that truly means.
Salvation is more than a moment—it is a divine rescue, a legal transaction, and the beginning of transformation. When you receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, something radical happens in the spirit, and that reality is meant to manifest in your life daily.
Many people are walking in defeat and are being abused by the enemy because they do not know what they have been saved from.
You are not just saved for heaven—you are saved from something, delivered out of something, and transformed into something.
Let me break it down for you.
What Are You Saved From?
The Bible makes it clear that salvation is a rescue mission. You were not just improved—you were rescued.
1. Saved from Sin and Its Penalty
“For the wages of sin is death…” – Romans 6:23
Sin carried a death sentence, but Christ took your place. We often take this for granted because we grow up hearing it and it has become ordinary. But I want you to stop and think about this for a few seconds. You should have been killed… but He said no… let her/him go. kill me instead.
2. Saved from the Wrath of God
“Having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” – Romans 5:9
You are no longer under judgment—you are under mercy.
3. Saved from Eternal Separation
“Your iniquities have separated you from your God…” – Isaiah 59:2
Through Christ, access to God is restored.
4. Saved from the Kingdom of Darkness
“He has delivered us from the power of darkness…” – Colossians 1:13
You are no longer under satanic dominion. This means we can be delivered from demonic possession.
5. Saved from Bondage to Sin
“Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.” – John 8:36
Sin no longer has authority over you.
6. Saved from Condemnation
“There is therefore now no condemnation…” – Romans 8:1
Your past no longer defines your future.
7. Saved from Spiritual Blindness
“…the god of this world has blinded the minds…” – 2 Corinthians 4:4
Your eyes are now open to truth.
8. Saved from Fear and Death
“…deliver those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” – Hebrews 2:15
9. Saved from the Curse
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law…” – Galatians 3:13
10. Saved from Being Lost
“The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” – Luke 19:10
Salvation is not small—it is total rescue.
What Are You Delivered From?
There is a difference between salvation and deliverance, though the outcome is the same. Salvation is instant, but deliverance is often progressive—it is the working out of your freedom. There can be…
1. Deliverance from Strongholds
“Casting down imaginations…” – 2 Corinthians 10:5
2. Deliverance from Fear
“God has not given us a spirit of fear…” – 2 Timothy 1:7
3. Deliverance from Generational Patterns
“Christ has redeemed us from the curse…” – Galatians 3:13
4. Deliverance from Oppression
“Jesus… healing all who were oppressed by the devil.” – Acts 10:38
5. Deliverance from Addictions and Bondage
“You have been set free from sin…” – Romans 6:18
6. Deliverance from Bitterness and Unforgiveness
“Put away all bitterness…” – Ephesians 4:31
7. Deliverance from Deception
“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:32
8. Deliverance from Double-Mindedness
“A double-minded man is unstable…” – James 1:8
9. Deliverance from Shame
“Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” – Romans 10:11
10. Deliverance from Confusion
“God is not the author of confusion…” – 1 Corinthians 14:33
Deliverance is where your freedom becomes visible.
What Does It Mean to Have the Mind of Christ?
“We have the mind of Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 2:16
This is where many believers struggle—not because they are not saved, but because they still think like they are bound.
Having the mind of Christ means your thinking is transformed to align with God’s truth.
What It Looks Like Practically
1. You Think According to God’s Word
You filter life through truth, not feelings. This is very important if we ought to have an intimate relationship with Christ.
(Romans 12:2)
2. You Walk in Humility
You don’t need validation—you live to please God. Therefore, you ought not to be men-pleasers but God pleasers. This can only happen when you know what God wants. Thus you have to be in constant communication with Him.
(Philippians 2:5–7)
3. You Are Led by the Spirit
You don’t move impulsively—you discern.
(Romans 8:6)
4. You Have Discernment
You can recognize what is from God and what is not.
(1 Corinthians 2:15)
5. You Control Your Thoughts
You don’t entertain lies—you take authority over them.
(2 Corinthians 10:5)
6. You Carry Peace in Pressure
You are not easily shaken. You don’t get angry with God when things don’t go your way. You remain confident in Him knowing that He is working on your behalf, no matter how things seem.
(Philippians 4:7)
7. You See People Through God’s Eyes
You see purpose, not just problems.
(2 Corinthians 5:16)
8. You Walk in Obedience
You don’t just hear—you act, not waiting for clear vision but moving step by step as he leads.
(John 14:15)
The Truth Many Miss
Here is a deep revelation you should cling to…
- Salvation changes your position
- Deliverance changes your condition
- The mind of Christ changes your daily life
Many are saved but still live bound—not because Christ failed, but because the mind has not been renewed.
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” – Romans 12:2
Final Charge
You are not who you used to be.
You are:
- Redeemed
- Delivered
- Transformed
Now your responsibility is to think like it, walk like it, and live like it. Be confident in who you are in Christ and the enemy will flee from you.
Closing Prayer
(Pray out loud)
Father, in the name of Jesus,
I thank You that I am saved—not partially, but completely. I am rescued from sin, from darkness, from bondage, and from every power of the enemy.
Today, I receive the fullness of my deliverance. Every stronghold is broken. Every lie is dismantled. Every area of bondage is released.
Renew my mind, Lord. Teach me to think like You, to see like You, and to walk in truth daily.
I declare that I have the mind of Christ. I will not think like my past. I will not live beneath what You have provided.
From this day forward, I walk in freedom, authority, and identity.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
